Helping out...

The local radio station had the run down of the game on the airwaves. Chris even played Angus' favourite music :) The Courier Mail and Warwick Daily News were there too...

Here are some of the locals that helped raise funds for Angus today...

Blessings,

All for Angus...

Today, a whole bunch of locals got together to cater morning tea and lunch for a bunch of cricketers, officials and spectators. It was the Maryvale Cricket Club versus Lew Cooper's Invitational Team.

Was fantastic to see Angus tossing the coin this morning at 9:30am. Angus is a local 8yr old boy who has the rare Pallister-Hall syndrome. He's in need of surgery on the tumour that he has on his brain. The surgery and rehab can only be performed in America, and it's very costly... He's such a brave boy. Makes you realise just how insignificant our own problems are...

The four in our family were glad to do our bit today and hopefully there'll be lots more money raised tonight at the charity dinner and auction. Hope I win one of the raffle prizes :)

Roma Beauties...

These are the lot that hubby picked today...

Yummy!!!

Blessings,

What the???

This little one should have been hybinating already... Yet, Jasper just found this green tree frog... He escaped just in time :)

So strange to see it at this time of year...

Blessings,

Can't give it up...

My eldest has a thing with hats... He has to have it on all the time. Usually the one from school. He can't even explain it. Has to be reminded all the time about wearing it inside cut getting better over time.

This one hat is on it's last legs, yet he still wanted to keep it. Was hanging on the end of his bed through the bedpost hehe

Anyway, it has been surrendered and he now has another one, and it's new!

There's only so many times a hat can be stitched up and patched...

Blessings,

Such beauty...

Loving my roses at the moment... The weather has no idea what it's doing. So warm for this time of year. Even at night our minimums are still 8-10 degrees!

Loving smelling the Lincoln rose especially :)

Blessings,

Just a couple of Bikkies...

Saturday, our local community is going to be overwhelmed by large crowd of outsiders... We have the lengondary cricketer Ian Healy and many others coming for a charity cricket match during the day and a huge dinner at our local hall that night. A massive BBQ at our local pub starts the weekend off on Friday night. Sunday morning will see another huge BBQ being put on as well.

As a member of the Progress Association, I'm helping with morning tea and lunch. The whole family is helping, a day that starts about 6:30am and who knows when it'll end. But who cares... It's for a great cause.

I love it that half the money raised will go to a local 8yr old boy, called Angus, who needs operations that are only available in America. Love getting involved with locals for a local!

There will be memorabilia auctioned off on Saturday night, as well as many raffles, which will hopefully raise huge amounts of money...

My bikkies will be part of morning tea for the cricketers playing. My boys say they're yummy... I enjoyed making them this afternoon, all 230 of them ;) Hopefully, others will agree with my boys too!

What to do...

My youngest has mostly had an aversion to reading. It's now at the point where it affects his schoolwork! He's just had his birthday and my Dad and Stepmum gave him gift cards to koorong Bookstore. Woohoo, my favourite shop (along with Bunnings and Dusk:))

Anyway, I went to the koorong closest to me and found a series of adventure books. All about mystical dragons, parallel worlds, the underdogs, hidden gateways and so much more. I made sure the writing wasn't too small. The book has 400 pages... He thinks he will never finish it...

Hehe, little does he know the series has four books in it!!!

We are all loving the story so far...

Blessings,

Lovin' the Atmosphere...

Have always loved my candles... These days though they are not just for display! They are being used. I love to see the flickering of the flames out of the corner of my eyes... It's so calming, so relaxing...

Love it!!!

Blessings,

Bonfire time...

We still have our minimums at about 6-8 degrees so we are still a while off having our first fire for the season, inside that is...

Love the atmosphere of a fire... So, I grabbed some marshmallows and in cahoots with my eldest we set up the outside fire pit and had ourselves a fire!!!

Sooooo much fun! The stars were truly magnificent and played their part exceptionally well!

Looking forward to the first inside one... Wooden houses have had theirs going around the village a couple of weeks now... Not us, love our insulation!

Blessings,

Mountain Board Conquered...

Yeah, not really ;) But, I've stood on it and not fallen over... Does that count?

First beanie done...

A lady that goes to our local craft group and Biblestudy makes beanies and jackets for babies in Africa... I've started to also make the beanies. I have now completed my first one...

I'll be changing it a bit for the next one as I reckon it looks more like a bottle warmer... Hehe

Not bad for a first try though :)

My IOU :) :) :)

I've been away two nights this week and I got home to...

My favourite perfume!!! And a huge 100ml bottle too! Sooooo loving it!

Tops of a wonderful week for me!

Blessings,

Poor darlin'...

I went to get my winter booties out of my top drawer and I found a very shriveled up green tree frog...

Have no idea how it got there... Either it got there by itself or maybe got a ride in on some clothes and while the drawer was open, it crawled in???

Poor thing... Glad there was no smell though...

Blessings,

A 15 year old Young Man...

How time flies... He amazes me as to the young man that my youngest is turning into! Today he is 15!

One of the presents Hubby and I got him was a mountain board... It's a snowboard with four wheel drive wheels hehe. He's now in the process of designing a course in the front of our property... He's loving it. No injuries, yet...

Hubby didn't think I'd want to have him get into this sport. It looks like soooo much fun... Very cool...

My dad was here for most of the building process, which was nice for both my youngest and hubby. Was lovely to watch for me :)

Now, to make some awesome jumps!

Blessings,

Chokos...

I was given these during the week by a lady from my Homegroup... She had been very successful in growing a couple of vines...

I've tried to grow chokos before but I've always planted them at the wrong time I reckon. Too cold... Will wait till the frost is over. They will sprout before then, off course but that's ok... Will just put them into the hothouse over the cold season.

Hope I get them to grow fruit this time :) They have no taste on their own but are great to bulk up and extent any food as the chokos take on the flavours easily!

Will keep you posted :)

Mother's Day...

Today was my day...

I should have slept in but was awake from about 3am. Once it was light enough, I read one of my many Graham Cooke books. When hubby got up the boys at 7am, I pretended to be asleep. They knew I was pretending but I wanted those kisses on the cheek... My youngest caught on straight away, my eldest I had to request a kiss. He obliged hehe...

When they were little, I taught them not to come in and yell their 'urgent' requests but that Mum was much more likely to listen first thing, if she was woken with a gentle kiss on her cheek... Still works, though now they usually just help themselves, or I'm already up as they are teenagers and get up... well, very late is one way to put it!

The day was spent together. First going to church, then Chinese takeaway to a local park. The weather was glorious and the breeze was light. Perfect weather and the trees are starting to turn. The maples had beautiful deep burgundy leaves.

The afternoon was spent writing down prophecies of mine, for a couple of hours and dinner consisted of waffles, pure maple syrup and ice cream.

It was a day for reflection for me also... My mum had her Mother's Day today also. I look back, especially the last few and am so thankful for her gentle guidance and advice over the years. I do wish I knew what places that advice comes from. The experiences, the joy, the hurt, the life lived through her eyes. Like with my boys, advice is sometimes hard to take but given in love all the same. I am very thankful for my Mum and love her very much... I am very grateful for who she is and that I can claim her as mine... It is a honour to pray for her and my Stepdad... I pray she's around for many more years...

Hubby's Mum is another lady that I'm so glad to have her in my life. She gave birth to my husband and without her, I wouldn't be where I am today... She's such a quiet and gentle and courageous lady and a great teacher. Plus, she makes the best house booties and hand towels :)

My Stepmum has also imparted pearls of wisdom to me over the years, for which I am very grateful. I love the prayer warrior that she is and how strong she has become over the years... She has changed allot with the Lord's help.

I realise that I have some very, very strong women in my life. I love and appreciate them more than I can put in words! I do wish that I got to see them more often... I'm glad for the phone, email, ability to txt and write. What would we do without them!

Bit more writing to be done and then off to bed. I longed for a nice and relaxing day, and I got just that... Plus loads of cuddles and kisses! Can't pray for more than that, hey? Plus there's still one IOU that didn't arrive through the mail in time! Wonder what it is?!?

What a sunset...

Last night we had the most glorious sunset... Every couple of minutes the whole sky changed. I started watching it while I was slashing on the tractor. What a view to work to :)

Blessings,

Game time...

Wednesday night, being no technology day, my youngest chose the game and hubby was loosing badly... What we realized though was that he was helping himself to cards when others weren't looking... And I'm called a cheat! Ha!

My youngest still won by a mile, as usual... Great night, great game, great company, so much fun!!!

Blessings,

Roma tomato...

Yummy and never enough on the bush! Hubby picked some for dinner... Yum!

Blessings,

Echocardiograph...

Had my first one ever done yesterday... Took about half a hour. Ian, that did the testing, was very nice and helpful.

Will find out next week what the results will be... I'm sure it'll be ok. Best safe than sorry though. I have a great doctor!

Blessings,

How cool is that???

Found this spider in the sink... Must have come in with the celery hubby was using to make concentrated vegetable stock.

A spider with a cross on its back! Wow, now that's cool...

Blessings,

What the???

Yes, he has settled in... Jasper knows just how to stretch and where to lie to get a scratch... Learning from Bailey very quickly... Hehe. Both also pose for the camera very well :)

Blessings,

First lesson...

My youngest is wanting to get a license one of these days. Hubby thought it a great idea to get him on the tractor for practice.

He was scared but in 3rd low gear it didn't go far fast... He made a big circle and then stopped near the shed. I then slashed more of the back paddock, after finishing washing Betty! Soon he'll be doing the paddocks for me ;)

Blessings,
