The 'painful' latch...For a while now we have been trying to save the gate latch... It just doesn't want to play. Two days ago Joshua came home from school and there the gate was open as far as it could go with the latch bits just lying on the ground... The other one behaves, why not this one...
Anyway, just for the moment it is behaving again. I am off to Ladies Group today so on the way home will drop into the Hardware and get a new latch. I am armed with a photo and will come home with the same sort of thing but hopefully it will last just a little longer than this one has.
It is the gate that the dogs sit at while they watch the world go by and keeps them away from the chooks so need it to work. Plus it is at the front of the house which everyone uses. It just has to work. The problem with this latch is that the bolt that holds all the bits together doesn't want to stay in. It keeps popping in and out. What a pain... Not after this weekend though. It will be replaced. It has done its dash. :)
