Birthday Present...

Russell's creation. :)

My Mum enjoyed her 60th Birthday last month... This is what Russell came up with for her Birthday... Made with love, wood chosen by me and accessories chosen by Russell... I love the way he crafts his fountain pens... He is rather clever I think. :) I am soooo biased but that's ok. :)

Shelves, shelves and more shelves...

New table for the Shed...

Lots of room for storage :)

Didn't take long to fill this one...

Russell and Joshua have been very busy over the last few weekends that I have been working... They have made two massive shelves for the shed. We also made another two shelve table last Saturday before I left for work for the night. :)

The shed is looking better... Soon it will be organised. I realise that it is Russell's shed and that he is by no means as worried about clutter as I am but... You know... I just can't stand it...

Anyway he is well and truly on his way to having a tidy shed. Yay!!!

Jumpers and Jazz...

Juliet loves Romeo...

Russell was asked this year to help out with creating a plaque for one of our Craft entries... It needed to be a wooden heart with Romeo and Juliet's initials on it with an arrow...

He went to town... He made the arrow with the back having guinea fowl and duck feathers. The front of the arrow had a polymer clay heart for an arrow and he even put a green drip on it for the poison... He chip carved the initials and even put the hooks on for the back. Now here we are thinking that someone may likely steal it so how to fasten it to the tree so it is secure. Don't know as yet what we will do but Russell was held in very high esteem for the end result. All are so happy with it and I am off course immensely proud of him. He got to put most of his talents to good use and show off just what he can do.

Clever sweetie he is :)

Happy Birthday :) To Me :) :) :)

A beautiful book from my Dad and Stepmum.

Beautiful candles from Margaret and her boys...

PJ's that won't eat my tree seedlings. hehe Thanks Margaret. :)

Booties for home. Thanks to Russell's Mum :)

Votive holder by Jamie Durie :) Yummm, love his stuff...

Tulip made from Polymer clay by Russell... with two tea lights...

$50 from Russell and the boys for plants. :)

Yep you guessed it. It was my Birthday yesterday... I was very spoilt. :) I baked a roast chook for dinner and a Pavlova for dessert on the Sunday night as I really wanted to get back on the straight and narrow from the Monday... (Yes am on a diet... the first in my life so to speak... Did try Herbalife before but can't swallow the horse pills this time around...) So far have lost 3.5kg in two weeks. Did well the first week, not so great the second but still a loss. :)

Back to my Birthday... I had the most lovely day. We didn't really do too much but it was lovely as Russell had the day off and was able to enjoy the day with me :)

Joshua had a Student Free Day but Timothy still had to go to school. We did spend the day mostly in Warwick as we had some things to get for our upcoming camping trip. I also had to attend the last of my course that I have been doing for the last six weeks. It is called 'Do as I do' and is about identifying your child's anxiety and how to best deal with it... Has been very interesting to say the least and has helped me allot even with my own anxiety...

So all in all here I am entering my 40th year of life and I can truly say that I am having the time of my life... How blessed am I??? Yes, I know I am very, very blessed...

Russell's Handiwork...

Russell's work is all about Information Technology. He has been a programmer since forever and now is in charge of projects where he tell others what to do and make sure he works within budget...

He is very versatile and till try anything. And he does. He tried alot of things for a little while and then does something else. He has tried many, many things. I am so fortunate to have a hubby that will try it all. I am very proud of him.

These days he is crafting pens from silicon as well as wood. He is rather clever. He also make boomerangs and he sells and these ones even come back. They are sold all over the world.

One thing that he has not done in a while is Intarsia. He is soooo good at it. Above is an example. These creations are dotted around our lovely home and always remind me of him, which is great especially when he is at work for the week and not home at night. I hope he gets into it alot more as I miss him making these creations.

The picture above was his first attempt. It was made for me many years ago for Mother's Day and it has a proud place in my kitchen. I love it.

He is really good at getting training info off the Internet or from the library and giving it a go himself. Good way to also get info for him is through forums. There are many people out there with alot of knowledge and are always willing to share that with others. Wonder when the next one is going to show its head out of the shed....
