Ice, ice, baby!!!
And here we thought it'd be cold earlier this week but not quite this cold... -2 degrees brought frost in the chook water bowls... Tim had fun picking it up and throwing it against the house. Sounded just like glass breaking... ;) Brrrrrr

Knitting machine...
I think I'm in love... Yep, I'm in love...
Yesterday, I had a go on a knitting machine for the very first time, ever!!!
I made a trial beanie and then one for Josh! Little bit chuffed...
Our little local hall has one that I can use whenever, so will be using it again next week... Can't wait to make more...
The sky is the limit as to what can be made... A knitted dress is next I reckon. Or maybe a jumper. Or maybe a scarf...
Blessings,
Hello, oh lovely machine...
Trial beanie.
Josh's beanie...
Coolest invention EVER... So easy to use...
French toast...
Josh style :) All Russell did was give verbal guidance. Was cool to watch and eat hehe
Yummy
Blessings,
Flintstone egg...
Look what I found ;) So bumpy and rough. Bet it's the same chook as the one that laid the huge one a couple of days ago...

Omgoodness what an egg!!!
Just collected our day's eggs and we haven't had 8 laid in ages... What really surprised me though, was that our smallest chook, Midget, was sitting in 5 eggs, including our largest egg in a Long time... It weighed in at 108gr!!!
Our family challenge...
We have agreed on a family challenge from today...
1st day of Spring sounds like a great time to start :)
Our challenge is called... 'Lets see how long we can eat with what we have in the house without restocking!'
Over the time that we have lived out here, we have acquired an aweful lot of foodstuffs... Don't get me wrong, I'm all for stockpiling... I just find that we have so much more than we need...
We have a large pantry, deep freezer and fridge/freezer. I wanted to find out not only what we had in these places but also find out how long we could go without buying more food...
Yes, there's several reasons for this... Some are: wanting to not spend money, saving money for more board games, using up things that we have but don't usually use up, not wasting food...
I suggested this challenge last night and all the family are in! The only things that we will buy is milk, bread (once the bread mix is used up) and fruit.
So here's what the pantry, fridge/freezer and deep freezer look like now... Can't wait to see how our imagination will have to be used to come up with something different...
Blessings,
Josh's turn...
Last night Josh dishes up yummy spring rolls and homemade sausage rolls... Yum oh yum! Our boys are spoiling us hehe
Blessings,
