And they came for dinner...

Adam eating Sorbet with Joshua being smart. :)

The Beautiful Anthea, Joshua and Adam...

Boys and their iPhone4 toys...

Yesterday we had the utter pleasure of Adam and Anthea's company. You will know Anthea as Adam's mum from a previous post when I went to visit her place...

This time it was time for them to come here and what a lovely time we had... They arrived just after 5pm with Wine and Oysters... Yum is all I can say on both counts. :) :) :)

Dinner was rather simple. We had Russell's yummy chips with Fleischleiberl (that would be Rissoles in English lol) with Pear Ketchup. Yummm. I even had the pleasure of hiding Brussell Sprouts, Leek and Celery in the Rissoles that no one knew about till I spilled the beans. Thanks to the Thermomix I was able to hide them really well... Adam didn't even notice and from the sounds of it he is not too keen on the old Brussell Sprouts. Desert was Pear Sorbet which Bimby put together for us in less than two minutes off course. Love watching Bimby do her thing. hehe

Adam off course had his tummy tickled and wet willies were made as well. Joshua mainly, climbed all over his back and blew raspberries... Loved watching it...

After dinner Uno had to be played off course. No meal at our house would be the same without it. :)

After the kids went off for bed, the adults got a chance to talk which was wonderful. We were all getting rather tired and seeing poor Adam still had around two hours of driving to do we called it a night at about 9pm.

Twas a wonderful time we had though... I hope they had just as good a time as us... :) :) :)

Till next time :)

Hideout is gone...

Our local creek is amazingly high at the moment...

Joshua and James had built a hideout under the bridge here in our little village a while ago... With all the rain we have had in the last couple of days it has now been washed away. Joshua was a little sad I think though he tried not to be upset...

We have had 25ml here but I realise that at the coast people have had up to 260ml, some places even more...

I don't even want to think what our place would look like right now if we had of had that sort of rain. Our tanks are busting and the only happy fowl at the moment is the duck... Our chicks are still hatching and we are up to 6 babies now, one having died night before last. So the hen still has one egg to go and will see what happens there today. Another post will be dedicated just to these cute little balls of fluff, don't worry :)

So everything is growing at a great rate of knots and apparently there is more coming tomorrow as well. Hope I can get out my washing in time so it dries today... Will see... Either way as long as it is out another wash from Heaven ain't gonna hurt it at all. :)

Back to the ironing and more baking, bread needs doing :) :)

Cashing in...

Russell mopping... what a champ :)

For Mother's Day this year, Russell and the boys gave me a whole heap of vouchers that I could use whenever I wanted to... I have them there but don't remember to use them...

Yesterday, I used my first three. Timothy I asked to do the sweeping of the whole house... Russell I asked to do the mopping of the whole house and Joshua did the washing and drying of all the dishes that were in the sink... By the time I went to the first Progressive Society meeting at 9:30am it was all done. I loved it... Joshua gave me his voucher back... He is happy for me to use it again and again. What a darling... Timothy, needless to say did Not give me his back... lol. Neither did Russell... He knows that that is his job each week anyway. :)

Was nice to cash them in... Was even nicer to know that I didn't have to do those jobs... hehe Must work on Timothy though, he liked to rush it a bit and the whole job ended up taking him allot longer than it should have... Time and practice I said to him. That is all it takes... He ain't too sure about the practice bit, needless to say ;)

What bundles of fluff...

Mumma's not happy about the intrusion...

Four chicks under the light... black one is hiding in the shadows

For the last three days we have been checking under our chooks for more chicks... The reason being that there are three hens sitting on eight eggs... One is soooo feisty and gives Joshua what for each time he checks. At the moment we have four chicks... The black one is soooo cute so is the one with the creamy face :) Oh, they are all cute off course. Just hope they are hens more than roosters...

Roosters will go to the Pig n Calf in Warwick during the next School holidays. Hens will stay or be bartered with :)

The reason that we have taken these lots of chicks is that there are three mothers (came from Lisa and Russ) and I can't chose one to look after the brood while the other two are separated from them. Just too cruel. So we are raising them inside under the light with chick starter and water and see how we go. After a week or so the hens will be out of sitting mode and rejoin the flock... Then we will introduce the chicks when they are old enough to go out.

The other hen that is sitting on 10 eggs from memory will stay with her chicks as she is on her own and will be in her cage on her own protected from everything by then. The other hens will have moved out as she is not due with her chicks for another 1.5 weeks yet. Can't wait to see what she hatches out.

Milking time...

Joshua waiting patiently for his Brother...

Nope, no bus yet...

Here it is :)

A beautiful tree outside of the Dairy...

Whenever we go to the Dairy I always pick up Timothy from the bus stop by car. There Joshua and I wait for him to come off the bus and then we go off to the Dairy and back home again. That was again the case yesterday... We do this routine twice a week usually...

Love getting that milk home and getting a cup full straight away... Nothing on this earth like it :)

It is flowering :)

Oh what a smell... :)

When Adam left Brisbane, he left us with one of his Mandarin trees... I have been faithfully looking after it and watering when required. It has a schedule you know :)

Anyway this week it has been rewarding me with lots of flowers that smell just divine. I wish that a photo could also take in the smell so you could also smell it. So sweet and beautiful...

I hope that we get lots of fruit :) Even if we get all of this lot I will be able to make a jar or two of Marmalade for someone for Christmas... Wouldn't that be wonderful?
