After finishing a sleepover shift, on my way to seeing my baby sister for three nights, I got to spend the day with this beautiful lady.

The Coffee Club did well to feed us for hours. It is our place to meet. But like a reunion as the last time we had a meal there together, was six years ago...

You know when you have that rare friend... You don't talk much, especially face to face but as soon as you're together for a tiny while even, you feel time melting away. Nothing has changed. Everything is beautiful and just as it should be. It easy, light and uncomplicated. You are appreciated for who you are and you do the same... That's how it is for me with the lovely Karla... It is how it always has been. I can and do tell her anything and everything and she does the same with me. It is rare... It is ever so special!

Considering she was here back in Australia only three weeks, I felt so blessed to be able to spend time with her not just for brekkie at 7am... It just wasn't long enough. We gasbagged till 3:30pm! It was truly awesome. We laughed. We cried. We shared. We hugged... She gives the best hugs! The Cheesecake Shop was also visited hehe

Can't wait till next time... She's one beautiful lady and an awesome friend!

Sooooo Blessed...

Visited a very precious friend of mine for morning tea yesterday... I left feeling closer to her than ever. I learnt so much from her and myself in one three hour long conversation, I'm still gobsmacked...

I love the journey we are on, separate and together... 

I also drove away very blessed. Thank you for sharing your bountiful harvest with my family and I... We are truly blessed...

Rest In Peace, Caron...

My home church pastor sadly passed away on 5.3.14 and the funeral was last Friday. I was so blessed to be let off work 1/2 hour early, though I still was 20 minutes late in the end, due to three lots of roadworks... I'm so glad I went. I'm usually strong up to the funeral but once there I'm always a mess, this time was no different...

The funeral was a lovely celebration of her life. The way she was depicted was so her... She was so loved. Nothing was too much trouble. She was only 60 years old. It was her time... She's now in no pain. She's running and dancing and singing in her off key voice :) Her grin and laughter were so contagious. Her snorting when she laughed too :)

Oh, how I miss her... Oh, how sad I am for her darlin husby, as Caron would call Peter... Oh, how devastation it has been for her four daughters and son and their families, her own siblings and mother... 

My circle will not be the same... No more dropping in for those bottomless cuppa coffees, no more prophetic words, no more visiting out where I live, no more car trips to see and hear Lynne Hamilton speak or to support her beautiful Daughter's Chaplain Fundraising Dinner, no more taking her to Bryson's or out for Chinese and have Michael whip something yummy up just for us...

It will be a new kind of normal... But never quite the same. I'm grateful for having met Caron. A mutual friend that wasn't a friend till I picked up plants from her through Freecycle and she invited me to her church... That was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, that I will Always treasure, I do wish it had lasted longer...

Whopper Onion...

I have recently reacquainted myself with an old friend. I've done allot of growing over the last couple of years and am really enjoying spending time with this lovely lady...

When visiting her place recently, she gifted me one of her three onions she had picked from a single onion she had planted... Was so honoured to receive this gift!

The tops have to die down a bit more and then I can't wait to use it!

Mitchell's 18th...

Friends of ours, that we originally met through our then local school's special education unit, had their youngest turn 18 last week...

It was such a honour to be in that small circle of his friends that he wanted around for his 18th... 

The theme was Chanel and we had to dress up in black, white and pink. Our eldest had a ball in the pool. Our youngest had a ball outside the pool hehe. Hubby and I got to spend time with a lovely and interesting bunch of people...

Went and visited Margaret, as she was making dinner for me for my Birthday. Was a lovely meal so lovingly prepared and devoured in minutes hehe...

8 egg cake...

I know, I know... The receipe only called for six eggs but I couldn't help it... They were just soooo yellow!

Made this cake today for a friend and her three little darlings... Yes, today I had visitors! Don't have them often...

Was so lovely to give away some water kefir grains, eggs and sourdough starter... Love to share. Someone blessed me with them so now I bless others in return... Paying it forward :)

The cake has now been demolished... Yep, my boys came home from school!

Told my youngest that it was Failsafe and his next question was: 'So, you'll be making it often then???' With a huge grin, flapping those long eyelashes at me... Hehe... Was rather yummy.

A beautiful, if not windy day all round ;)

Visitors!!!

My best friend and her two beautiful boys came to visit us in the mountains today...

We had such a great time. So much laughter, so much fun. We even played UNO :)

A BBQ had been requested, so I asked my two boys to bring ours up from near the shed... My youngest complied :) He did it all by himself! And what a huge effort too!

What we found was a BBQ that had a huge mouse nest in it as well as many spiders calling it home...

Hubby, even though he's still not feeling totally well, got to it and cleaned it up so beautifully... I bought new briquettes and kitty litter to soak up the oil drippings. Was fantastic to use it, after not having used it for... About 7 years! I know... That's so bad! 

I had wanted the BBQ up at the house since we had finished the outdoor area and now it's there :) 

Was sooooo great to have beautiful friends over to rechristen the BBQ. Even Nova scored a mini sausage that hubby accidentally dropped :) The BBQ now has a new cover for it as well and will be used heaps now :)

I love it that she now has a working car that can get her here and back home in one piece... Was a bit iffy before. :) All good now!

Think I'm in Love...

I have been totally blessed :) I was given two memory pillows from Lorraine Lea Linen... I'm in love with one, my eldest wants to score the other one... Hubby gets first dibs! We shall see how he goes tonight.

I can honestly say I feel so loved... How lovely was my friend given them to me... Such a treasure... Feeling so, so blessed!

A surprise...

When I took our two visitors back to their mum on Wednesday, I was greeted with flowers and a beautiful card...

So thoughtful, so generous, so loving, so kind...

Playtime...

Oh how I'm loving having extra two boys in the house... More noise - yes... More laughter - for sure! Our visitors have been very careful to be quiet once it's lights out, seeing it's a school week for my two... Oh how wonderful their stay has been for us all :) Their manners are impeccable and all food is polished off their plates... I don't worry about leftovers hehe... Not with my kids or our visitors!

So glad we have had the honour of having them these last few days...

My youngest is loving the piggyback rides, basketball games and the fake wrestling, my eldest loves having someone to play Xbox games with :)

Our dogs are loving the attention and extra cuddles from our younger visitor especially :)

I have my best friend's boys at the moment. Last night it rained... Tonight...

The night is crisp. The night is clear with loads of stars in the sky. It's the night for a bonfire and some sticks with marshmallows on the end :)

All four boys are having a ball!
