Me time...

I love it when I drop the boys off on a Friday night to Youthgroup... I do that and then end up in my local coffee shop for a muffin, latte (1/4 strength off course!) and a great book. Graham Cooke is one of my favourites, so he gets a good workout ;)

What to do...

My youngest has mostly had an aversion to reading. It's now at the point where it affects his schoolwork! He's just had his birthday and my Dad and Stepmum gave him gift cards to koorong Bookstore. Woohoo, my favourite shop (along with Bunnings and Dusk:))

Anyway, I went to the koorong closest to me and found a series of adventure books. All about mystical dragons, parallel worlds, the underdogs, hidden gateways and so much more. I made sure the writing wasn't too small. The book has 400 pages... He thinks he will never finish it...

Hehe, little does he know the series has four books in it!!!

We are all loving the story so far...

First night back...

The boys went back to Youthgroup tonight... First night for the year. They survived the first week of school and are settling into their grades really well. My eldest is in his last year of school, my youngest is in Year 10! Where does the time go...

Thoroughly enjoyed reading my book, drinking a latte and eating my apple crumble muffin while the boys had their fun at Youthgroup :)

It's nice to spend time just by yourself sometimes... Doesn't happen enough... Must correct that!

Dogs listening to eldest reading...

Besides his love for anything Minecraft, another of his passion is reading... 

Currently that's either the old Asterix books or Animorphs!

Picked this book up because I don't think it's such a bad thing being strong willed... 

What I'm finding though is that we are not necessarily born that way... My childhood circumstances helped allot with that...

Haven't had dedicated reading time at night for a while. So tonight's the night :)

Lights are off... Candles are glowing warmly... Love the effect candles have plus they heat a room up very nicely :)

This is what I'm reading at the moment. Next month, hubby and I have been married 20 years... There's also like a contract that a wife can sign about commitment... I'm so gonna do that :)

Reflection and pondering on the last 20 years has been really good for me... Strengths and weaknesses admitted and learnt from... Changes made... A wise book...

Sleep therapy...

I have started reading an interesting book by Joane Goulding called 'Sleep Talk'... Very interesting so far.

My eldest has been having some issues at school. Stressing allot over deadlines and feeling anything he does is still not good enough. So I went to Headspace with him to see how they could maybe help him overcome this incredible anxiety...

Sleep therapy was one thing suggested so I have borrowed the book from the gentleman that my son sees and will see how it goes... Have only just started so will keep you posted :)

Reading...

He's the only one in the family that has a bit of an aversion to it... Yep, Josh is not so keen on reading...

Russell, Tim and I love it and we are trying hard to foster that love in Josh too...

Earlier this week, Josh got out his book and offered to read to me out loud! Was lovely and I loved it even more as it was in front of the fire! So peaceful. His book is full of kid humour which is a good way to get him interested :)

Here's hoping and praying he loves books as much as the rest of us soon :)

Rainy Day...

My view out of Brad while waiting for Timothy's bus to come and take him to school...

This morning when I was woken by Russell leaving at 4am I started to hear big drops of rain hitting our roof... Yay the forecast of rain was right :)

Since then it has been constant and sometimes very heavy. When taking the electricity meter reading this morning I stood there for a while just holding onto the down pipe where the rain was coming down. Love that noise and feeling of the water hitting my hand on the inside of the pipe :)

Just got inside again after getting three crates of wood from our pile when it started bucketing down... Just made it back in time :)

I have done all my baking for today. Anzac bikkies and bread was on the list today. We are having left overs from the weekend for dinner so now it is time for me to finish off here and do the sweeping of the house. All else is done...

After that time for a good book in front of the fire I reckon. Enjoy your day everyone :)
