We have Babies...

We have not had chicks in a couple of years. One Australorp went off the lay and got awe silly clucky. This happened while we were on holidays mid December. We ended up with 3 chicks. Mum got off the other eggs after they hatched early so we lost 7 sadly... Hindsightbis a beautiful thing. I should have brought in the eggs and put them in the incubator but I really thought she'd go back to sitting. Anyway, big lesson learnt :)

They are growing well and Mum chook is very good with them :)

Lovely fruit...

Soon we will have our own harvest... can't wait ;)

Oh my goodness...

What allot of drama! Blogger stopped working for me back in September and I've finally transferred over to Blogo. Will see how it goes :)

So much has happened in the last 4.5 months...

The major change is that Josh has finished school. Amazing that there will be no more school interview, award ceremonies or sports days...

We celebrated his graduation by going on holidays. Bribie Island was his wish and our destination and we had a fantastic time. Loved having time with my family and also spending it with my sister and my mum. Was special indeed. To finish off we celebrated Christmas early with my side of the family...

Feels great to to be back!

Trimming the Rosemary...

It's been in there for nine years and has never had a trim. It was time... I took heaps of cuttings and Russell has put them in the greenhouse. We hope they grow as we would love a hedge out the front house fence with Rosemary... Great for the coming bees too :)

Has made such a difference as it doesn't overhang onto the paved area anymore... A big job that was down for these school holidays and it got done :) Woohoo!

Blessings,

After...

Found these in the Rosemary bush as I was cutting them back...

Garden beds...

They have new soil and manure added into them. Found some treasures from last season too...

Blessings,

Shallots...

Huge parsley...

Fully grown lettuce :)

Yacon is hiding in the top left corner and the rest is ready to be planted with other seeds and seedlings... Great times :)

Huge Step...

In my heart I had always hoped we would be able to have Dexters here again, one day... Realistically, that's not going to happen. 8 acres isn't enough room for two and we really want the seedling trees to keep growing ;)

Today, Russell and Josh are demolishing the cow yards we built nine years ago... Sad to see them go though it's making way for the new three bay shed. It will house Russell's tools, etc...

We will then finally have a place to park both the cars out of the elements, in our original shed. Will be great to have this chapter finished... Then, onto the driveway.

Blessings,

One chunk is out...

There are allot of staples and bolts...

Josh, the muscleman :)

Getting there...

Pile is getting bigger, though materials will be used elsewhere...
