Proud of you, Son...

Semester 1 for 2014 is over and yesterday my eldest got his achievement and behaviour level award. He's at Level 1! Highest you can get. Well done Tim!

Soooooo proud of you!

Blessings,

Christmas in July...

Our local community got together last Saturday and had our annual Christmas in July! Had a fantastic time...

We ate a three course meal, had a three part trivia, which my family came second in our of seven teams. There was a mystery auction with ten different items. Mrs Claus also showed up. Yep, I loved doing it again. Think I might be stuck with that job :) We had three locals also sing for us too...

Everyone had a great time! Can't wait till next year!

Blessings...

Wanted to bless my hubby today... So I ironed his 15 shirts, 2 for my eldest and a cardigan for me. Liked seeing his smile when he saw them in his cupboard :) Achieved allot today :)

Even got a workout on the massage mat, while listening to a podcast!

Love my slow Life!

Blessings,

Back on Track...

Up until Easter, I had lost 25kgs. From today Honey coated cashews are no longer welcome in our home :( Got to like them too much. Last thing I want to do is put weight back on again.

So... Back to drinking lots of water every day, walking when possible and staying on the smaller portions. Will have a replacement shake in the mornings for the next week... I'm ready to loose the last 20kg... Bring It On!!!

Blessings,

Love My Bath...

Jasper loves having a bath. He sits and stands so well :)

After he's out and dried with a towel, it's time to go nuts and run around skipping and jumping. But like a lamb hehe

Funny to watch, as long as you're not the one showered with sprays of water from all the shaking ;)

Jumpers n Jazz...

Our craft group entered again this year and the tree is certainly nice and warm!

This year the theme was 'Zen'. Not a very good theme as thee wasn't much variety as you get all other years. Hope they make a better choice next year...

Wonderful to see so many trees dressed. So many colours... :)

Blessings,

Wolf man...

My eldest is mad about anything wolf... And I mean everything...

This is one of his favourite hats! Excuse the smirk...

Blessings,

Ultra cuteness...

Yep, I know I'm cute... Yep, I love cuddles with my mummy...

Jasper, doing his thing ;)

Love watching my boys sleep. Even better when cuddling with an animal :)

My eldest loves cuddles with Jasper :) Just not the same without Bailey...

Blessings,

Love Letters...

A new card game of ours. Played it on No Technology Monday! Was excellent. And even more so as I won hehe!

Blessings,

Treat time...

Went and bought shoes for my eldest... They never last long! On the way home we had a sundae. He had mango and I had mini m&m's toppings. Yummy!!!

Blessings,

Happy Birthday, Hubby...

He's 49 yesterday... Something he's wanting to not remember. He knows he's having a big party next year and isn't wanting to face that one just yet...

He had a quiet day, surrounded by family. Made Chicken Schnitzel for dinner and his birthday cake was a double Soggy cake. Loved by all and my youngest went back for a second ginormous piece ;)

'Twas a lovely day... Just as he's a lovely man :)

Rest In Peace, Darling Bailey...

Yesterday ended a very hard week in our home...

Saturday, last week, we lost Bud, the budgie...
Wednesday, we lost a chook to a roaming dog...
Last Saturday... Oh, how sad a day...

Overnight, Bailey's breathing got worse and he laboured to even lift his head. His eyes were dull and he couldn't stand. He was one heavy floppy dog. Again, he didn't want to eat, not even top grade mince meat.

In the last three days, he had only eaten a little raw chook leg. That was on his last night.

Am so glad that my youngest got to have him in his room for Bailey's last night... Even if Bailey's breathing was loud...

So glad for the time we had with him. We learned so much from him. Patience, forgiveness, persistence, unconditional love, cheekiness and so much more.

Cavies really are a beautiful breed of dogs... That tail was going, even if allot slower, to the end... He will Never be forgotten...

He's no longer in pain... 10:15am Saturday, we all said our goodbyes... I'm so glad we made the right choice! So glad for medicine that could help him no longer have difficulty breathing, his heart was working so hard in the end and the heart murmur was very noticeable... It was the kindest thing to do for him.

We are strong... This has drawn us together even more as a family. Bailey would have loved that.

He was buried next to Nova, with Bud in his paws... Buddies to the end...

It has been incredibly hard on all of us as we had him from 6 weeks of age. He ended up being 2 months and 4 days shy of his 10th Birthday...

Thank you, Bailey for your love...

Blessings,

Last cuddles in bed...

Oh, that beautiful dog... Thank you for everything Bailey!!!

Poor chooky

One of our chooks was taken by a wandering dog from the neighbourhood... Hubby and my youngest found the Australian Langshan hen the next afternoon, trying to move but was unable to. I had to put it out of its terrible misery. My eldest was soooo distressed...

Hopefully it won't happen again... I sure hope and pray that will be the case.

Oh Bud...

After our time away with family, we got home to find that Bud had escaped four times from his cage... The fifth time, hubby was unable to save him. He loved to escape. He loved to fly free...

The dogs barked at him and though hubby put him back in his cage shaken but again safe, he passed away about eight hours later... He is so missed and was so loved. Loved how he played with his swing, always talked to us and loved to fly from shoulder to shoulder...

My eldest is so upset and can't even speak about it. Not good to have Bailey sick too, at the same time... He's now worried something will happen to him also...

Blessings,

Cheeky Jasper...

I go away long enough to play a board game with my hubby and youngest and I loose my seat...

Jasper loves this chair actually and jumps up any chance possible. I reckon he's rather comfy there...

Blessings,

Still not well...

Bailey started getting better, then the antibiotics ran out...

Went to the vet again today and he's got a throat infection now... Chest is clear. Means he's on antibiotics for another two weeks. Going back next Monday to see how he is. Still needs his C5 yearly shot and a teeth clean...

So glad he's going to be much better soon...

He's loving all the attention ;)

Blessings,

Nordic Warrior...

I was called that not long ago...

Blessings,

What a shot!!!

Picture this... My eldest is jumping on the trampoline. My youngest is hitting the ball with my hubby. I'm sitting and watching all three with two dogs at my feet, sunning themselves...

Ball is kicked by youngest but gets close to the trampoline so eldest catches it and  kicks it to hubby off the trampoline... Awesome shot. Awesome skills! ;)

Ahhhhh, fresh country air... Nothing beats it!

Blessings,

Thrashed... Nah...

The boys thought they could take on my gorgeous sister in law and me and win at pool...

Well, ok they did win by a shot but still we sure gave them a run for it. Same with Ping Pong. Soooo much fun!

Blessings,

They want something...

Funny how when you're chillin' in a chair, all of a sudden you have two dogs that want to get on your lap, at the same time...

One at a time does it, thanks Jasper and Bailey :)

Blessings,

Cooking for everyone...

My youngest and my brother's middle boy had the task of making Reisauflauf for lunch last Saturday...

Tasted nothing like what we normally have but fun was had bringing it all together either way :)

Blessings,

Family time...

Went and spent time with most of my side of the family during the winter break...

Was an awesome time. My boys loved catching up with their cousins and I got to spend time with my sisters, brother, Dad and Stepmum... Was so wonderful...

Blessings,

Problem Solved...

I got this pressure cooker about five years ago... To replace my Kelomat, that I had been given from Austria.

It's an easy twist, 22cm, 7litre Baccarat pressure cooker. So not a cheapy...

Only problem was that the very few times I used it, it never got any pressure in it, so it never worked as a pressure cooker, not once...

Fast forward a few years and I got it out last week to cook up a chunk of silverside. Again, no pressure. Got the manual out again and ended up emailing and phoning to Melbourne supply stores to see who could help.

Ended up talking to a lovely man, Erol, from Baccarat Spare Parts... I bashed one of the seals with the back of a knife and yahoooooo I had pressure build up!!!

Works perfectly. One of the seals wasn't quite even and the knife fixed that... Erol, you seriously are a champion!!!

Yes, the silverside was gorgeous and tender...

What a scent...

I love flowers in the winter...

Blessings,

Memories...

Was so beautiful to find my treasures from my Oma... Missing her...

I've just started writing letters to a friend. I've been using an old pen of hers. I had four saved but three were not working. One is so am using it :) Feels so Goodrich be writing, as I missed it for years... Miss her voice...

Blessings,

Treasure...

I had not seen this in a long time... So happy when I saw it...

Blessings,

Allergies... Be Gone...

My youngest has had problems with his nose all his life. He's had six operations and the specialist could have corterised his turbenets again... The last option was to move to the coast or Tasmania... Yeah, just not happening. The other thing was to take out the turbenets but this is only done when they are adults. Very likely he'd end up with a continues drip...

We found a great Allergy Clinic, two hours drive away, and they have now commenced a three to five year process. Every week for 13 weeks he gets an injection, then a fortnightly one and then monthly. The serum is for two out of three dust mites. Cats he's not good with either but the dust mistes where the worst. He had 35 prick tests, a process he just loved... Not, but he survived!

He has now had four weekly injections. This week he gets a stronger serum than at first. A lovely nurse gives the injection, which is wonderful :)

Feeling blessed and praying that we see a difference in about three to six months...

Blessings,

Endurance ride...

Our little local school is catering for their second one this year! Love the different walks of life... Love the community spirit in people coming together to serve...

Blessings,

What a tree...

My baby brother has this tree on his property... I just love it! When his house is finished being built, he will be able to see it from his bedroom... What a sight to wake up to... Soooo beautiful :)

The golden guitar...

That's a landmark for the town of Tamworth... Yeah, did the tourist thing and took pictures!

Blessings,

Tamworth...

It's the place to go for Country music. Not into that really but was interesting to see what was around the dining room when a friend and I went there last weekend...

Blessings,
