It is time...

Time to let go...

This was my Oma's bag that was given to me many, many years ago...

I had not used it for a long time, then I did and now it is so battered and bruised it is no longer fixable...

I kept it for an extra six months, letting it gather dust but decided it was time... Time to let go and move on...

Cheers

Ultrasonic Cleaner...

I got one of these a few years ago now and it saves me a little fortune...

I put my jewelry in there and in no time they are back to their sparkly old self :)

So easy to use... All in the privacy of home :)

More babies...

This time of the green variety :)

The sweet basil seeds have broken through the soil surface and said 'Hello'...

Now I'm just waiting for the Yukka to come through... Oh, I hope they do :) I have never grown them from seed so to have them grow would be an achievement :)

Trying out the trampoline...

Both the boys have always loved the trampoline... The new one is certainly getting a workout :)

Cheers

Ant rid...

Had to use it... They're trying to build a nest right near the chook house and two cages... :(

To protect the chooks from pecking at the Ant Rid, we've covered the area with a 200 litre drum. Hope they move their nest out the back paddocks... There are plenty of others there...

Reading heaven...

My eldest has the last of his presents... 40 Animorphs books :) Let the reading aloud begin :)

About 8 of the series are missing and we are tracking them down on the net.

Love good Scholastic books :)

I love my two boys soooo much...

Yes, I do... Liked this picture and thought I'd share it :)

All cracked up...

Went to make a cuppa with one of my lovely big coffee mugs... Heard a funny sound as I put it on the kitchen bench... Upon closer inspection, there's a crack in the handle... Noooooo, that just won't do!!! I can't have an uneven number of cups.

Hope hubby can fix it :) Yep, I know he can!

New trampoline...

To say it is massive is really an understatement... It is 16 foot across... And we thought our old trampoline was big.

You can see it in the background... Looks tiny in comparison ;) We put it together as a family, with me having to go just at the end of it, as work was calling me...

The boys are loving it :) Let's see if we can get 14 years out of this frame too!

Cheers

Comfy...

Yep, Bailey is :) With two pillows all to himself no less hehe

Valentine's Day...

I realise I'm late but I am enjoying my present from hubby... So is the rest of the family :) Also love my card... He always knows just what to write :)

We also went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream... So yummy :)

Cheers

Magic Bean...

I like the peculiar things... Stuff that is a bit different... And that includes plants...

Found this at Aldi this week and had to get it. There are three plants in here of good size. Will divide them when they get a bit older and take one to work...

Funny thing on the label: Not for human consumption... Hehe

Cheers

Fondue time...

It meets with the household's approval! The white marshmallows and chocolate were failsafe. Hubby and I had the pink marshmallows :)

Yummy ;)

My girl...

Finally got to Margaret's yesterday afternoon. Had a battery of blood tests and Doctor visit first, so it was a lovely way to end my day... Love seeing Margaret and her boys :) Loved giving her her Birthday Pressies...

After my arm was twisted (yeah, right!) I stayed for dinner and what a spread. Couldn't fit another thing in :) The time flew... Loved the cuddles, loved the kisses and chest bumping with James hehe, loved seeing Dylan trying out his newly fixed guitar, loved the chats, loved the singing :) Before I knew it I was on my way home...

Minecraft rules!!!

My eldest got his last Birthday presents in the mail from the US today... My boys both love Minecraft which is an online game...

He loves the necklace and the keyring :) Yay, a winner for the parents :)

Reading...

This is what I'm reading at the moment. Next month, hubby and I have been married 20 years... There's also like a contract that a wife can sign about commitment... I'm so gonna do that :)

Reflection and pondering on the last 20 years has been really good for me... Strengths and weaknesses admitted and learnt from... Changes made... A wise book...

RIR baby laying...

Wonder which one of my chooks it is... The three babies have grown so much. They love to jump the retaining wall and visit. They talk up a storm and follow me everywhere... So cute...

The yolk isn't there yet. Looks like one has laid her first egg. First for sure as Rhode Island Reds lay large eggs... Eventually hehe

Quinoa, chicken and white sauce...

To say it was yummy is an understatement :)

I bought a kilo a while ago and the quinoa has kept excellently. Much cheaper from my local health food shop as opposed to the tiny packets you get in the large supermarkets...

I cooked the quinoa in my rice cooker. It expanded extremely well. Also took on the white sauce very well. On its own it is rather bland though. Am happy that I'm now eating Aztec food :)

Amaranth plants will hopefully come up soon in the garden :) Then we have more Aztec food :)

Snoozing...

Bailey always sleeps so this is certainly nothing new hehe

My youngest on the other hand decided last night to not go to bed when his father told him to. I ended up waking up at 3:13am to him talking on Skype!!! Needless to say, he has no technology whatsoever today.

Instead he got to do all his chores, mow the lawn, wash a car, water the greenhouse and seeds out the back, read lots to me, you name it the list goes on...

Apparently he's tired after only having about four hours sleep... Hmmm...

Think next time he'll listen to hubby when he's told to go to bed.

Now... What other things can I get him to do... The day is not over yet! Hehe

Cheers

Growin' stuff...

Got these cute set of 3 pots from a local cheapy shop last Wednesday...

My youngest and I used hubby's drill press to make drainage holes in each pot...

Basil seeds are in one. Cherry tomatoes in another... I know, way too small but wanted to try it... The last pot will have Yucca seeds go into it. The seeds are soaking overnight as that helps germination...

Now we have to wait and see for some growth in the kitchen! Hope they grow :)

Happy 16th Birthday...

My eldest had his 16th Birthday yesterday...

Time flys... He's growing up into such a lovely young man...

He got spoilt off course... He's so into this online game called Minecraft so ended up with their merchandise :)

A huge wolf poster was also received. Our card for him this year was soppy and long hehe

So proud of how far he has come... Can't wait to see the next 16!

Cheers

Worm castings water...

Love the stuff... Plants love it too off course... When you put it on the plants, you can hear the plants singing for joy...

Love Mother Nature :)

Cheers

Seeds are in :)

February planting has been done...

Carrots, chives, celery, amaranth, rosella, spring onions all went in today :)

Looking forward to making rosella jam again this year :)

Can't wait for the seeds to come up. Mind you then we are in trouble... The chooks keep getting in the yard and digging in our fenced area... How ever are we going to keep them away from our crops???

Cheers

Garlic a growin'

We bought some garlic bulbs not long ago... Apparently it's supposed to be sterile and not grow! Yeah, right!

Put a handful out in a huge empty pot to see what happens with the growth that started in the pantry...

Cheers

Nearly harvest time...

Our two trees of Pomegranates have fruit on them :) One tree is nearly ready to harvest...

Hope the wallabies and hares leave them alone... Quite a few of our trees have not been so fortunate. The wind here is also such an issue. Descriptions of plants state they tolerate high wind... Once here it doesn't seem to be the case...

So here's to harvesting soon...

Cheers

Water chestnuts...

The plants are growing... Slowly but surely. I'm not harvesting this year as I did that totally last year and they need to multiply more first :)

Love watching the little fish darting between the stems :)

Cheers

Kefir milkshake...

Put some banana and golden syrup with milk kefir... Wizz in the Thermomix and you have a yummy drink :)

Cheers

Smiling at you and me...

Love it when the flowers come out...

Love my succulents :) Don't have enough of them...

Cheers
