Hail blanket...

We've had allot of that threatened lately... We invested in a blanket... It has 4 clips and straps which actually secures it quite well :) The car looked like a weather balloon with it on. Can only imagine what people thought when they saw it. Hehe

Have not tested it in hail, as we've not had any of the threats come through (Thank God) but it faired very well in the rain!

A word of advice? Have someone help you take it off, preferably in calm conditions. I nearly blew away with it trying to take it off by myself... Hehe

Cheers

Water consumption...

For a while I've trying to have my needed daily intake of water... Yeah, well it wasn't really happening... More like coffee intake instead...

Last weekend, while at my Dad's for Birthday celebrations, my sister-in-law had this huge water bottle she was sipping from...

I came across the same on Thursday... And only for $6.99!!!

Couldn't walk past that ;) It's 1.982 litres capacity and perfect to have around the house or at work :) Am determined to work my way up to having a bottle full a day...

Now to stop others from pinching it! Hehe

Cheers

Dinner out...

Wow, this doesn't happen much :)

The Coffee Club just opened up in Warwick so for my Birthday, hubby took me there for dinner :)

The calamari is always cooked to perfection!!! Love it there :) So glad they're finally in town!

Chocolate Banana Muffins...

There were on the menu this week for my youngest to bake at school...

And didn't he do a great job :)

He's really enjoying cooking and baking, which hubby and I are really happy about :)

Cheers

Birthday...

Am a year older today :) And wiser, off course... Hehe

Got spoilt today from family and friends...

Lots of texts saying Happy Birthday, and phone calls too :) And lovely cards... Love my Birthday Cake that hubby made for me.

Hubby even did my nails for me! I am enjoying my seashell chocolates :) And I'm wearing Adam's perfume to dinner tonight... I smell pretty good. Will see what my eldest says as he's got the most sensitive nose out.

My new candle holder, from my Dad and Step mum, I will use later tonight... ;)

So, having a great day... Am ever so blessed...

Cheers

Nova...

Usually, she's been preferring to sleep either on the bed or the couch... And when on those it's usually just in a couple of specific spots.

Lately, seeing the weather has warmed up, we are finding her in all sorts is strange places. Couple of times we have had to 'follow the snoring noises' to find her... Cutey pie!

Cheers

Lilly???

Tried Google images but no luck... I know it's a Lilly of some sort... Anyone know it's name?

Last year I only had one come up... This year there were four :) So lovely inside too...

Cheers

Tortilla cake :)

Last week my youngest didn't have tortillas or salsa at home so as he needed those ingredients, hubby and him got busy making it from scratch. Me, I was sick all that week so was no use at all. Thank goodness hubby was there and also loves to let loose in the kitchen :)

The end result was soooo yummy. All homemade and he was so proud of what he'd achieved. And so he should be :)

Cheers

Interest comes and goes...

My eldest loved doing his archery when he first got his bow and arrows...

After a while he stopped doing it. Now he's doing archery in HPE at school... So needless to say he doesn't want to sell his after all... He wants to get back into it again...

Glad to see him outside enjoying a great sport :) Not like we don't have the room hehe...

Cheers

Blue Tongue Lizard...

While I was sick last week, I went to the Doctor at the local Hospital...

This is who greeted hubby and I on the way out, just past the bottom steps...

Lovely vision :)

What an adorable puppy...

Meet Zoro... He's a Labrador and only six weeks old. He only got to his new home yesterday and my family were very privileged to meet him in the late afternoon. I'm sure he will settle in really well and we love having another dog in our extended family ;)

Welcome Zoro... We love you to bits already!

Cheers

Meet Betty...

Yesterday morning, I said Goodbye to Brad, the Blue Yaris. Had him for 3yrs 11mths... It was great while it lasted...

We got a great deal :) Hubby wasn't happy with what the car yards where willing to take as handover, so he went online and found a great deal $4000 less than in the car yard... Couldn't be beaten!

We ended up with a white Kia Rio Si. 5yrs unlimited warranty, roadside assistance, cruise control, electric everything. Tinting we got done before delivery too :) Betty already has all my phone contacts downloaded in the car. Betty even tells me how many kms I have left before I run out of fuel :)

Have driven her through sun and rain already. On the way home we hit 200km :) on the Odometer. She's going to make my driving to and from work a joy :)

Love Betty :) :) :)

Getting older...

Yes, that time of the year again... Birthday time :)

Yesterday, my side of the family got together and celebrated five November babies Birthday's, including mine :)

Was lovely to see everyone and catch up. There was even a little concert held with our violinist and guitarist giving displays of their talents :)

Cheers

Getting there...

I'm slowly on the mend. One thing is for sure, when I get sick I really get sick. And this time I took my whole family with me... My youngest recovered the quickest. My eldest is having his second day off school. Hubby missed training and I missed a weekend and four week shifts. Since last Friday afternoon, I've been horizontal other than to the Doctor's...

Tomorrow, I will attempt to stay up longer than 5 mins at a time... Will see how I go!

Cheers

Getting to that special time of year...

I decided not to make my own cards this year. I found this pack of 25 for $0.99 at Aldi... Couldn't beat that :)

Have started to write in them. Our families are doing it very simply from this year. Hubby's always was... Just cards... Now it's my side's turn to join :) Just lots of eating and spending time together :) Love it!

Carob Slice...

My youngest has been in the school kitchen again this week :)

Yesterday, he made a Carob Slice so that it was failsafe :) Trust me the big reveal was so worth it! And the taste... Let's just say he's going to be making it again... And soon :)

Cheers

Another toy...

Hubby got the iPad Mini today. How cute it is. Will help with development and trialling his computer ventures :)

Well, that's his excuse anyway ;) Don't know if I would quite spend my pocket money on one but he is stoked and that's the main thing :)

Cheers

But Seriously...

Allot of times lately when I'm away working, my eldest forgets to get the chook eggs... When I got home today, I collected 27!!!

At this point, I am going to be reducing our numbers. There is just too many. The purebreds and Bruce, the rooster will stay. Ducks are also going. Going to just keep it to chooks from now I think! Am thinking 10 hens and the rooster :) Sounds like a much better number :)

Cheers

Done and dusted...

Another lot of work experience has been completed by my eldest. This time he went to a Stud at Yangan...

John was so patient and taught him a variety of things... He had a great time and is a little sad now that it is over. So glad he got to meet John and his Stud :)

Awards Ceremony...

Last night, the whole family went to Warwick SHS for their 101st Awards Ceremony. This was the first time that we attended. You see, we got an invitation to attend! Our eldest was getting an award...

He's been doing his work experience all this week so was not at school for rehearsals. We therefore turned up early so he knew where to sit and what he had to do. He was nervous as he still had no clue what award he was getting...

He was the fourth off the ranks to get his award... It was: P&C Transition Award (for student with an Individual Education Plan)

Out of 70 Support Student, he was the most improved, personally and academically :) All that hard work paid off beautifully!

I was so glad to get a photo with Ms Walker, who's in charge of the Support Unit and Mrs Jarrett, his Case Manager. They both believe he's a very worthy recipient :) And so do I, biased or not! He knows though, he couldn't have done it without theirs and all the other teachers' support and guidance, especially Mrs Knudsen...

It was a long night and we didn't get home till just before 10pm. It was indeed a great night out, celebrating so many achievements :)

Cheers
