Tim's Adventures...

As a family, we have been so fortunate that Tim has such wonderfully blessed support around him. His range of experiences over the last 1.5yrs has been wide and varied...

He would love to work on a farm with animals so lately he has been getting allot of farm work experience :)

He's so enjoying it. There are days he's exhausted and sore, though always has a smile on his face...

So blessed...

Blessings,

Wood, glorious Wood...

One appreciates it when you're down to two large pieces of wood and the ordered tonne of wood gets delivered...

I so appreciated seeing Rob this morning... I'm getting sick and it's been raining off and on for days. We were so close to not having heat in the house. At one point, yesterday, I was prepared to use gas canisters and the gas camping stove to heat a corner of the house...

Today, it isn't so cold which is so good. Though when you're not 100% even then it can still feel cold...

We were Rob's only delivery today as the properties he goes to are still too bogged from the rain we've had since before the weekend... Feel so fortunate that we got our wood. Have also given Rob heads up that we will probably need another tonne in about a month.

Tomorrow onwards, it's gonna get cold. Weekend should see about -2 degrees. Happened so much faster and earlier this year. At least we don't have to mow for a longer time this season :)

Blessings,

Tim collected loads of kindling...

Miracle reappearance...

Oh my goodness!!!

9 November 2015... That was the night we lost allot of chooks and more went missing...

Yesterday, as Tim was shutting in the chooks from their day of free ranging, he found a Barnevelder chook on our rock pile... Just going up and down it... We wondered if it was one of the lost chooks.

She was so easy to catch. So tame. Tim placed her in the Chookhouse with the others. She looked healthy and was lice free. Added bonus :)

This morning we took her out. Checked her over again. She had nothing in her crop which means she hadn't been fed by anyone else, all this time probably... She is very healthy and was just sitting in my arm. No struggles to get away.

We placed her in one of our large cages for her to get used to being here again. Food, water and a dry warm place to sleep completed the set up.

It's just amazing to think that after 7.5 months we have one of our chookies back!!! And we know it is one of ours as one of the ones that we lost had a single white feather, as this one does... She's the same age as our other Barnevelder too. We had had three of them. Neither we ever found killed. Looking forward to reintroducing her back to the flock in a week or so :)

Now Tim's hoping more will reappear... Not sure about that one. He has aptly called her Wanda! Hehe...

On a wet day...

Today has seen 28.2ml come down so far... That's over 5000 litres of water into our tanks...

I love a rainy day... As it's a little chilly, it's a great excuse to put on the fire, watch a movie together, have a candlelight dinner with my three lads and have homemade bread and butter pudding ;)

Yup, today has been bliss!!!

Blessings,

Russell's bread and butter pudding...

Candlelight dinner...

Beehive sadly gone...

The boys and I took the hive apart earlier this week. We knew it was dead though it's still hard to see when you crack open the box...

Little bugs lived in there that left slimy residue. Yuk... We will get more. Determined plus!!!

Blessings,

Josh opening the hive...

Mumma baked...

One of the best bits about seeing my sister and her beautiful family is that I also always get to visit with my mum and stepdad...

My mum is the best cook, baker, food genius in the universe (off course). I let her know I'm coming and she's always so generous and obliging and makes the best food. I do enjoy the company and banter. This time we looked through so many photographs of our family also. Was a truly treasured time. Fills my love tank so well...

Blessings,

Dusk...

Love a trip to Dusk... All those candles... I hadn't been there for a long time. This last visit to my sister's place I had a look. Should have had my lighter on me to have it regased... Never mind means I'll have to go to Toowoomba sometime to get it done there. Want to make a trip to Koorong anyway. My favourite bookstore!

I came home with tea lights and five new large candles... Looking forward to using some as gifts. Some are gifts for me ;)
