Yesterday ended a very hard week in our home...
Saturday, last week, we lost Bud, the budgie...
Wednesday, we lost a chook to a roaming dog...
Last Saturday... Oh, how sad a day...
Overnight, Bailey's breathing got worse and he laboured to even lift his head. His eyes were dull and he couldn't stand. He was one heavy floppy dog. Again, he didn't want to eat, not even top grade mince meat.
In the last three days, he had only eaten a little raw chook leg. That was on his last night.
Am so glad that my youngest got to have him in his room for Bailey's last night... Even if Bailey's breathing was loud...
So glad for the time we had with him. We learned so much from him. Patience, forgiveness, persistence, unconditional love, cheekiness and so much more.
Cavies really are a beautiful breed of dogs... That tail was going, even if allot slower, to the end... He will Never be forgotten...
He's no longer in pain... 10:15am Saturday, we all said our goodbyes... I'm so glad we made the right choice! So glad for medicine that could help him no longer have difficulty breathing, his heart was working so hard in the end and the heart murmur was very noticeable... It was the kindest thing to do for him.
We are strong... This has drawn us together even more as a family. Bailey would have loved that.
He was buried next to Nova, with Bud in his paws... Buddies to the end...
It has been incredibly hard on all of us as we had him from 6 weeks of age. He ended up being 2 months and 4 days shy of his 10th Birthday...
Thank you, Bailey for your love...
Blessings,
Last cuddles in bed...
Oh, that beautiful dog... Thank you for everything Bailey!!!
