Baklava...

When my family and I first arrived in Australia, one of our neighbours was from Turkey... Auntie Nuran always made the best Baklava, ever...

You just can't compare it to anything else... My mum rang her and got her receipe off her and made a huge tray for after lunch today... Oh my goodness!!! It was divine!!!

I got to take most of the leftovers home... How awesome is that! And to boot, the receipe is actually really easy. Guess what I'm making this week... Keep you posted!

Blessings,

Doppler... I heard the heartbeat!!!

My baby sister and her husband, Phil, are expecting their first baby... Lis is 17 weeks and 2 days... I am so excited for her as it has been a very long road to get here...

Yesterday and today, I had the privilege to hear the baby's heartbeat. Lis has a Doppler. I would have loved one of them when I was pregnant... Technology these days...

Can't wait to see the first photos!!!

Blessings,

Lemonade...

I ended up juicing most of the lemonades... Russell did a couple as my hand started to get a little sore... I added magic cordial from the FAILSAFE cookbook and soda water and hey presto, lovely lemonade. It tasted awesome. Great rind for the compost bin too :)

Got allot our of it :) Yummy!

1st place...

Well done to Josh and his team for getting first place! Excellent achievement! Josh was first off the block and gave his team a good lead :)

Blessings,

Helping his Eczema...

It is something that Tim has had since he was six months old. Used to go down his back, legs and cover his feet...

Now, at 18yrs of age it only covers around his toes and the inside of his feet. A huge improvement...

No matter how careful I am with his clothing, sheets, washing aides and food to name a few, I can't get rid of the last lot. At the moment it isn't so angry as we have the cooler weather. It's a reason we moved here. To get away from the humidity. He is still ever so itchy...

I was recommended Paw Paw extract from, what we call in Australia, The Paw Paw Man...

McArthur's 'soap' has helped quite a bit. I am so glad and so is Tim. Haven't had so much success with the creams but will keep trying...

I was using locally made Udder Cream, with Bees Wax but that's another long drawn out story... It really did work! It was the closest to cortisone cream that I had come to in many, many years... I wish I could get more...

So, I just keep trying... That is what is mums do best... Hardest thing is distracting him from itching... Daily, it gets so bad... Then it weeps and bleeds... Here's hoping I can find more cream that works!

Blessings,

Lemonade...

Here are the rest of the fruit off Josh's tree...

Will be served tonight with Russell's Peppercorn Stew... Yum!

Blessings,

Kombucha Candy...

Made more tea today in order to add to my container... Had one huge Mother and needed to get it out of the container... Took three goes but I ended up getting it out :)

Cut it up. Coated in a little sugar. Put it on the stove. Placed into dehydrator... Now to wait till tomorrow for Tim to devour the four trays hehe... Love probiotics! So good. So cheap doing it at home...

Blessings,

More tea brewing...
