First Parade...

Mr Polis, Joshua and JR raising the flag...

Nine of the kids showing off their workbooks...

Joshua's little speech...

JR getting his Captain Certificate and badge...

This is what I have been waiting for :)

Joshua's new Principal has done an awesome thing... He is holding parades every Friday from 2:30pm and anyone from the community is welcome. It is a chance for the kids to raise the Australian flag and to show off what they want people to see. Their achievements for the prior week. How cool is that??? Really cool I say :)

So today as Russell was home and so was Timothy (School Swimming Carnival, indoors so too much noise) the whole family went to support Joshua :) It was so great to see. He helped raise the flag with another student, JR who is one of the two School Captains this year.

Nearly everyone did a speech which was great too. Then we got a tour of the school as carpets had been updated and the Library had been changed. All children have their own computers this year as well. Joshua even got the chance to show us what he had been doing programming wise. Very clever boy he is... Amazing what programs there are in our schools these days... I certainly never did any of that sort of work. :)

Looking forward to many more Parades. :)

Cheers Damaris

Ooo, I think I love Mr Polis! :-) Dave told me that he says the school is a shambles at the moment and several things need improving in regards to the children's education. I can't wait to see what he puts forward. Also, he said he wants to stay for at least 5 years, maybe 10! :-)

I'm hoping to help out somewhat this this year - maybe with music and/or art or something... I'll ask Mr Polis. Have to be able to bring my two younger ones along, though!

I think the parade is an absolutely brilliant idea. Wish I hadn't forgotten it!

He said the same to me as to Dave... Lots needs to be done. I am looking forward to the first parent meeting where we find out his plans...

Have already told him to put me down for reading with the kids... He seemed happy about that :)

Yes the parades are a great idea... Am going to mention it at Craft this week so that community members come too. Don't worry there are plenty more for the rest of the year :)
