Love it when hubby gets creative in the kitchen. Came home tonight from a 24 hour shift and here he was making a scrummy dinner...
And there's leftovers!

Time travelling...
That's what I've been doing... While at my sister's this week, breakfast consisted in part of beautifully cut bread with seeds, lovingly buttered by Lis and my Mum's jam on top!
I nearly died of shock and couldn't help squealing with delight as I saw the long not seen patterns the jam made on the butter :) :) :)
That sight and smell of that jam... Oh, I was right back there in Austria as a little girl on a Sunday morning having breakfast. Amazing how something so simple can make your week :)
On top of that, Lis gave me the rest of the jar of jam that had only just been opened... Guess what has pride of place in my fridge... Lol
Now... I must find out what jam it is! Plum, I believe but not sure. Ever so silky, and yum off course :)
Cheers

Visiting time...
Went on a little tour today... Saw Margaret and her lovely boys this morning...
Then went to my baby sister's house. There we have had a great catch up and my mum came and visited also. My brother-in-law's mum is currently visiting so it was lovely to catch up in person with her too.
Staying the night and then off to work in the morning.
My week off work has gone quick but has been great :)

Mini Tornado...
We went out today... The youngest left for his camp till Friday... The oldest went to BlueCare for respite... Hubby and I came home and knew straight away things weren't right...
The chook house was on its side with the roof ripped off. One of our smaller cages that we use for growing chicks and their mums in, was flattened. Storage containers were down the front of our boundary. Both our rubbish bins were on their sides with rubbish strewn around... An inch of grit and dirt were on our floor around open windows...
Amazingly nothing was hurt or too damaged. I can live with three cracked and two broken eggs. The roof is back on the house and it is in its right position...
Made us think about what we need to nail down though... The weather station said the front had 74 km/h winds... Wonder what it was in the back as that was were most of the damage was.
Hope that doesn't happen again in a hurry...
Cheers

Safe and sound...
Hubby's mum is moving and she wanted hubby and I to have her china cabinet. It had been a wedding present from my hubby's late father's parents.
It just fit into the back of the car, thank goodness... It wouldn't have survived going home in the trailer...
The cabinet has a new home :)

Sunset of the old and sunrise of the new...
Today is a very strange day for me... And my eldest especially...
Today, we say Goodbye to his wonderful Case Manager... This lovely woman is leaving as she's about to have a baby girl with her hubby... Oh how blessed to be having a baby :)
It has made me reflect on just how much of a champion she has been over the last few years. The gifts and card that my boy gave to her this morning meant so much to him. He felt honoured to be able to show her just a little of how much she means to him. He is on one side so happy for her that she's having a family but also so very sad that she's leaving...
We, as a family have been so blessed to have had her in our corner... The support has been fantastic... Words really can't express just how grateful I am... I hope she knows in her heart that she will always be treasured in this family!
It's amazing just how much he has grown up... I know he can handle this and know that he will be ok.
We again have been very blessed to have been given a wonderful new Case Manager. She also is very helpful and approachable and I look forward to getting to know her more.
As the saying goes: When one door closes... Another one opens...

Mythical creatures...
This is something my eldest has been looking for for ages. A 3D picture with Dragons in it. Quite amazing how they blend from one picture to the next. Within seconds he could tell me there were four dragons, one phoenix and a bunch of other creatures.
He was so happy he found it, he even showed it off before his last Gymnastics class for the term. :)
It will go up on his wall once he allows it to come out of the wrapping lol

Russian Caramel anyone???
Oh it's soooo smooth once it hits your mouth... It's the same receipe that hubby's grandmother used to use. Hubby's mum is off course very happy to get some from us whenever she can :)
Hubby made some last weekend... Brute force was needed to get smaller pieces out of the big slab that he made. Needless to say we're still enjoying a piece or two :)

Medieval Night at the Museum...
Warwick SHS was having a display evening... It showed all of the works of all the students. One of their assignments this term were to make something from the Medieval Times. As I have said before, my youngest chose the Catapult.
Some students even got awards, chosen by the Principal :) My boy got a Highly Commended! He was very happy :)
There were jousting demonstrations, apple bobbing, giant chess, other games and a heap of food :)
Was such a great evening. So grateful to my workmate and boss for letting me swap shifts so I could go. Something I would not have wanted to miss for the world. I also know that's it meant allot to my boy, as he knew his family was there, supporting him.

Figured it out...
Am so glad my hubby is soooo clever :)
A week ago, all of the sudden I couldn't upload any more posts... Kept saying I had reached my 1000 photo limit upload :(
Now I know that every 1000 pictures, I have to post once from a computer so that it loads photos into a new folder... Then away I go again doing it on my phone...
Technology... Gotta love it!
Oh and just can't wait for my iPhone5!!!

Science Experiments with Dinner...
Easy dinner last night... Eggs on toast. Hubby boiled the eggs and toasted the bread. We did the rest ourselves...
As we were peeling our eggs, my youngest tries to do a 'stunt' he saw in a movie once...
Peel both ends of the egg, blow hard at one end and the rest of the shell will just pop right off... Wouldn't you know it it worked. Lol
Now that's one way to get the shell off an egg hehe!
Cheers

Dedication Day...
Our local school had a Resource Centre built last year with all that Federal funding that all schools got...
Today, was the day when Senator John Hogg came to open the building officially :) He's the President of the Senate. Sounds rather an important role. He was a very warm gentleman :) Loved to interact with the kids, even sitting down in the reading corner and reading to some of the students :)
BBQ eggs and sausages with bread, tea or coffee where consumed. Then down to speeches and the all important ribbon cutting :) My friend Fiona's youngest boy did the honours and helped cut the gold ribbon. He was so happy!
Was such a lovely hour spent catching up with a couple of friends. Was disappointed though that only one parent of the 25 kids that attend the school came... Such a shame :(
For me, it was a great time spent as I got to meet new students I had not met before. One young girl caught my eye in particular... She was so sweet! I don't go to the school much these days as my boys are both at high school now. I do visit hubby in the office occasionally though, when on my way through to work!
All in all a great way to spend the morning :)

Escaping Lavender...
I got this lavender plant for Margaret and her two beautiful boys when their beautiful dog Karma passed away. Believe it or not... It is planted on the other side of the fence...
But just like Karma used to escape so does this bush... And just like she was a beautiful dog, so is this bush beautiful... And a little wild ;)

Oh not again...
Yep, I did it again... Was talking to hubby and put a spatula I was using, in the Thermomix... Forgot about it, put on the lid and started it up...
Think you know what happened next. Let's just say it was the longest two weeks without a new blade... Thank goodness it's back in working order... What did we ever do before we had it!

To fly or not to fly...
That is the question... Well, Snow White and the other duck have been flapping their wings wherever and whenever they have needed to get somewhere...
They are getting quite a bit of practice. Must be time to clip their wing...

Happy Father's Day...
I hope every dad out there had a great day today. The day itself isn't strictly celebrated so much in this home. Same with Mother's Day... Each day we have our little munchkins, they make us feel blessed...
Could never ask for a better Dad for my boys than my darling hubby. :)

Caught out...
No, not really hehe...
My eldest has an aversion to wearing shoes. He always has. His feet get hot very quickly, even in winter. He also doesn't like things on his feet. For years and years he used to only be barefoot and walking on the tippy toes... He has learnt over a long time that in school, it is not appropriate or safe to not wear shoes and socks...
An afternoon couple of weeks ago, he was enjoying a rewards afternoon :) They had made their own pizzas. My eldest brought along a base that we had made for him at home and then decorated it with failsafe food. He thought it was Awesome! They then got to watch a movie as well. He asked his lovely teacher if he could take his shoes off. She said yes and he got comfy in the beanbags... Very comfy :)
Was lovely to walk into school and hear his laugh as he was enjoying the movie :) Love and appreciate the support he gets at Warwick SHS. Wouldn't want him anywhere else!

Fundraiser Dinner...
I had the privilege of going to a Chaplaincy Fundraiser Dinner in Toowoomba last night. The venue was totally booked out with 160 people coming along. The variety of speakers was excellent!
It was a wonderful way of finding out the very diverse role of Chaplains and just how much our kids need them. May they never leave...

Catapult...
My youngest has been learning about the Medieval Times... It has been very interesting for him.
His assignment this term was to build something that they used back in those times... He chose a Catapult :)
There was much time spent finding just the right one. Then many hours spent in the shed making it. His prototype was made out of pencils and rubber bands. Rubbers from the pencil ends ended up as ammunition :)
The end result is fantastic! He was very happy with it. He also had to name all the different parts and answer questions about it. Was a great process and great bonding time with hubby too :)
