No Electricity Tuesday...

Was soooo peaceful last night. Just hearing the boys... Telling stories... Reading books... Laughing... Cuddling...

Love that feeling of wholeness. Love my boys. Love the peace. Love the reduction of electricity consumption. Love the candlelight :)

Jumping boy...

I realize I won't be able to say 'boy' that for much longer, as my eldest is really growing up...

He's still so happy and full of giggles whenever he's on the trampoline. It's also a great out for him and he uses it to calm himself. Bouncing and doing backflips... They're his favourate and have been for many years...

Hope he never feels the need to stop using it as a bit of therapy...

Bruce and his girls...

While I was cutting the boys' hair this afternoon, we had Bruce and his girls come by for a bit of a chat :)

They love digging up there. Love Bruce talking to his chooks as they scratch away :)

My eldest couldn't stop giggling... Love how much personality they have ;)

Told Bruce at one point to please show his beautiful side, so I could send my friend Angela a picture of him... He was very obliging :) Gentleman that he is!

Her comb is getting bigger and it's starting to flop like Floppy's... Love that about the Leghorn hens :)

She's been going great laying eggs too :) Little smaller than Floppy but she is only just in her first season...

Spontaneous Flowers...

Was taking off the washing off the line after dinner as it was such a pleasant evening. Hubby and the two boys followed :)

Upon coming back inside, my youngest gave me a bunch of flowers... What a sweetie :)

I have finally gotten around to sorting though my music files in iTunes... I now have 969 songs in my iPhone 5 :) Very happy!

Only problem is now I only have 1.7g space left... :(

Learning to cook and bake ;)

For a long time, I've had the boys helping me in the kitchen wiith baking and cooking... I love them being around me in the kitchen. Great chance to learn as well as talk about anything... I truly love that bonding time. It reenergizes me no end :)

My youngest has cooking classes at SHS this term and brought home his first dish last Tuesday :)

Oh, it was soooo divine!!! He did such a job! I'm so proud of him!!! Well done my precious boy...

Monday we had The Coffee Club open up in Warwick :)

Been waiting for ages... Tonight, hubby took me to dinner... Calamari and salad and chips... Yum!!!

Hubby had the chicken fillet burger and it was delish too :)

Lovely setting, very attentive staff and great food... Made for a lovely meal :)

Visiting Margaret...

Last night, the boys and I stayed at Margaret's place :) She's had a foot operation 1.5 weeks ago and I wanted to be there for her and her boys on my weekend off!

We had lots of laughs, way too much yummy pizza and loads of great conversation. Just love that lady and her two boys to bits. Over the last seven odd years we have been through so much together and grown so much... Amazing, when I look back just how things have changed... My love for those three never will though...

Glad we spent time there... Glad the boys got to all catch up... Glad I got to spend time with my best friend...

Visiting Opa and Oma...

On the way back from the beach yesterday, the boys and I stopped off at Opa and Oma's place!

Was great for the boys to go for a swim, I got spoilt with a cappuccino and had a nice chat :)

It was a very nice way to finish our visit to the beach :)

Day at the Beach...

Oh, what a perfect day it was yesterday... My boys and I packed the car and headed for the beach :)

It was very choppy and freezing cold but my youngest still gave the waves a go. My eldest was busy with his metal detector...

At one stage, a Lifeguard approached me and told of a lady that had lost a wedding ring the day before... He hoped my eldest could find it for her... He tried for about 2.5 hours but no luck. He did find a heap of other stuff though including money. There was even a rusty little bell! He was wrapped :)

Loved how many stopped us and asked if he'd found anything and to wish him best of luck. Kids would ask what he was doing :) Smiles all around.

My youngest got to bury himself and then had trouble getting out ;) Me, I sat in my comfy camping chair and fed the seagulls :) Such a great day... And the boys didn't get burnt, which is always a bonus... Now me and my neck? That's another story...

Off to a new home...

This upright freezer was from my great friend, Adam... Tomorrow, it's off to my other great friend, Margaret :)

It has served us well while we had Sausage, the homegrown Dexter Steer, in there. We are now just down to half a dozen roasts, amongst other pieces...

Margaret's chest freezer died yesterday. Ours had been sitting empty and switched off for a few weeks...

So, we are off in the morning to bring her this one! It's just the right dimensions and she's after an upright freezer as they are much easier access :) Win, win both ways ;)

So glad I can help out :) I know I'd be lost without my tuckerbox freezer...

Visiting Rebecca and Mark...

I love going out to their place... They have soooo many different types of purebred chooks. Now they are breeding them too. Oh, the hundreds of babies... I was in heaven :)

Yep, I came home with three new babies of my own ;) Three pullets... They're show quality Rhode Island Reds :) :) :)

Have wanted to get more for ages as we all love that breed out here and Mark just happened to have four. Oops I now have three of them hehe... All happened so fast and before I knew it, I was on my way home with a box of chookies :) He's so lovely for letting me take care of his precious babies for the rest of their lives...

My chook boy was so happy with the three pullets :) No sitting with me in the front on the way home from Gymnastics... Oh no, he had to sit in the back so he could converse with them :) Just love it!

Now we are looking forward to them getting the last of their adult feathers and seeing what their personalities end up like :) Can't wait to name them :)

Latest finds...

My hubby with shovel in hand, went metal detecting with my eldest :) Just on our 8 acres... It's amazing the things he finds...

He's having so much fun with it and tomorrow we are off to the Gold Coast for him to try his luck on the beach!!! People tend to lose allot of things there, so he's hoping he will find something :) He's soooo looking forward to it.

I can't wait to see him in action. Love the way he's lined up his latest find in a straight line... That's so him...

My eldest loves pictures of wolves... Has for a long time. A visitor at work today had this shirt on and had to take a photo. So glad the lovely lady was so obliging :)

Showed it to him and off course he wants it now too... Only problem is, the owner got it from her mum... Hope she can find out from where for me :)

Come so far...

It's amazing how far my eldest has come. Last week he got this award on Assembly... He had no idea he was even up for this award.

He was so stoked as it is the hardest subject for him. No learning wise but to deal with all the noise... The woodshavings and smells...

Really chuffed for him :)

Trying something new...

Nova and Bailey, our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, had tried four weekly injections for their arthritis... After that you only need top ups... If it works... So far Bailey is ok going down this road.

Nova on the other hand, is not. So, now we are trying daily tablets for the arthritis and hopefully they will work. Her left and blind eye has also dry tear ducks for which she is having special drops. Added bonus... Same cream also works for her ear which is sore :)

Been on all that since Monday and she is looking really good. Hopefully she's really on the mend :)

World Egg Day...

Well it was yesterday anyway... 12-10-12

So, I thought I'd show you two days worth of eggs from our place... 27 in total!

Didn't realize that Japan is the world's largest consumer of eggs... 60 doz eggs for each person per year... Wow!!!

China is the largest producer. Mine are doing well at the moment too lol.

Oh... I'm in heaven...

Hubby came through for me last night! He got a packet of ground beans and also some coffee beans...

Have opened the ground beans. They're medium roasted and I just made a big mug full of cappuccino :)

Tastes Devine. My old stuff from years and years ago has gone around my roses :)

Off to enjoy the other half of my cappuccino. Getting the hang of it. Next time I make one I will also put on the electricity metre to see what the machine uses for each cup :)
