One clean plate, one full tummy...Had the duck last night. Cooked it in the oven as I would a chook. Won't do that again as it was a little dry. Will try the skin on next time as well. Then place it on a rack and baste and roast that way.
I was so happy with the end result though. Russell said earlier in the weekend that he was NOT eating the duck. Was not chicken you see. He is a chicken man through and through...
The reason I was so happy with the meal in general was that it was all ours. All homegrown. Our first meal... Our milk for drinking with the meal. Our potatoes and our carrots. I could have done more veggies but really wanted the all our own meal thing and loved it.
The boys also remarked on it and were really proud of the meal. Joshua said it was fantastic. Don't think I would go that far but said thank you all the same. Above is Timothy's plate, all clean and all eaten. He loved it too. There is hope yet...
